This spell creates undead monsters from the bones or bodies of the dead. The remains animate and obey simple verbal commands from the caster, regardless of how they communicated in life. Commands can include: follow the caster, remain in an area and attack any creature (or just a specific type of creature) entering the place, etc.
The undead utlize the caster's POW instead of Magic Points to remain animated. The spell last until the creatures are destroyed, the magic dispelled, or the caster stops paying to maintain it. The POW cost is equal to what the Magic Point cost would be.
The occultist can animate up to 80 SIZ of skeletons for each infused magic point for a total of 240 SIZ for an investment of 6 magic points. (This would then require the caster to invest 6 POW to maintain the enchantment.) No skeleton may be larger than SIZ 80, but smaller skeletons totaling up to SIZ 80 could be created. (Thus a caster could animate eight snallygaster skeletons or one immature dobbler.) Standard undead have the hit points of the original creature but do not retain any skills or special racial abilities.
Enhanced versions of this spell can be cast at a Hard or Extreme difficulty which grant additional speed, strength, hit points, or the ability to utilize arms and armor. For speed and strength the body used for the enchantment must retain most of its muscle mass. One enhancement can be chosen with a Hard casting, two with an Extreme. Because undead are Soulless they cannot utilize magic or magical items requiring activation. They are able to used magical weapons and armor if imbued with the skills to do so.
