The Quick

The Quick was a Sky Caravel owned by Capt. Ner and Ship's Mage Elinor Mit'l out of the floating land of Caracara. A plyer of the "small package trade," The Quick used legitimate trade and exploration to cover its more profitable smuggling. The Quick met its end after picking up a Vampiric Metamorph while collecting meteorites from the the Lands of the Frosted Seas in the Southern Hemispere. One of the meteorites captivated the 'morph who killed the crew and then destroyed the Apa skull talisman which kept The Quick afloat. The crash left one survivor, Rayond LaCostce, Cook's Mate, who elevated himself to captain for his short, pitiful life as a castaway. The crash happened a quarter mile off the coast of Tiara Island, a desolate young islet consisting of a ruined volcanic crater with no natural source of water. LaCostce scavaged what supplies he could from the ship, but became trapped one visit after the 'morph dissoved the painter holding the jollyboat to the wreck, trapping LaCostce aboard. Capt. LaCostce climbed into the foremast crow's nest and died there from exposure, trapped by the Metamorph. While there he scrawled his last log entry in his own blood.

The ship now lies in shallow water amid an extensive debris field. Traditional mariners can (on a Piloting - Ship check [one roll penalty] deduce the ship was neither built nor rigged for nautical sailing but [if the check was made on a Hard or better] understand the vessel was built to sail the skies.
