Just The Food

Korean Beef

No, this isn't made from real Koreans.

1 lb ground beef/turkey/bison
3 cloves garlic minced
1/8 C brown sugar, but the more you add the better it is. 
1/4 C. soy sauce
1/2 tsp ground ginger
2 Tbsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1 bunch green onions chopped thin
3 C cooked rice


Cook your preferred version of rice your preferred way. We usually use white but don't feel limited by our life choices.

In a large skillet, combine the garlic and ground beef and saute until no longer pink (6-8 min).

In a second bowl, combine the brown sugar, soy, oil and seasonings. Stir that sauce into the cooked beef.

Simmer the beef on low to allow the meat to absorb the flavors.

We add green beans when we stir in the sauce, cover, and let them simmer together. Veggies are healthy and we all need more green in our life.

Serve on top of rice and garnish with green onions.
