Tiara Island

Tiara Island is a young volcanic island which at one point in its past suffered an explosive eruption which blew out the SW side of the caldera. The ocean rushed to fill the void and the caldera is now a protected cove surrounded on three sides by high basalt walls while open on the fourth but with the inlet protected from waves by spits of land. The island has no free flowing water source. The local flora is limited to knee high grass and the occasional stunted trees, which survive off the frequent tropical rainfall.

On the NE side of the island is a ramshackle remnant of a castaway hut. Approximately a 1/4 mile off the coast from the shack lies the shipwreck of The Quick.

The island is approx 3 miles on the long axis and 1.5 miles on the short. It lay 8 sailing days east from Stone Point, and 10 sailing days SW from P'Coh. There is a set of shallow shoals about midway between Stone Point and Tiara.
