Description:
This spell allows the caster to read a creature's (or object's if the item is sentient) general intent toward the Occultist. The intent is discerned in general terms: Friendly, Neutral, or Hostile. The general outline of the subject's intent can be determined if the caster's Skill Roll beats the subject's POW check by one step or better. Sample intentions could be to rob the characters, attack them, sell them something, ask for aid, or disinterest.
The spell only works on creatures or items of INT 40 or better. An unbalanced boulder does generate intent, and most animals have at best an INT 10. Unusual animals, or monsters of INT 40 or higher can be read by this spell.
This spell will detect a creatures intent even if Transmogrified or Polymorphed (Why does that tree hate me so much?) It will not work on hidden creatures or items unless the caster already knows they are there.
